# Life In A Dollhouse — catalog and sales channels

**Snapshot taken 6 September 2026** from the public Shopify feed at `lifeinadollhouseshop.com`.
Companion file: `catalog-browser.html` — a searchable, filterable browser for all 249 live products.

## The short answer: where do they sell?

**Direct to consumer only. There are no stores.**

Every product is sold by Ella Doyle from her own Shopify storefront, shipped from Mendota Heights,
Minnesota. Nobody else stocks the brand — not a boutique, not a miniatures dealer, not a department
store, not a wholesale marketplace. The one other place her work appears for sale is her original
Etsy shop, which carries a subset of the range.

| Channel | Sells here? | What is on it |
|---|---|---|
| `lifeinadollhouseshop.com` | **Yes — primary** | All 249 published products, $1 to $2,750 |
| Custom commissions by email | **Yes** | Full dollhouses and bespoke kitchens, quoted directly, 2–5 weeks to build |
| Etsy — `etsy.com/shop/LifeInADollhouse` | **Partial** | Her original storefront; rugs and printable downloads. Not the full range, and not linked from her own site |
| Physical shops, stockists, dealers | No | None found |
| Wholesale, Faire, trade shows | No | No wholesale terms, line sheet, or trade presence published anywhere |
| Amazon, Walmart, eBay | No | Not a seller. Amazon links on her blog are *affiliate* links to other people's tools, disclosed in her policies |

**On the Minnesota address.** Her contact page lists 697 Wesley Lane, Mendota Heights, MN 55118.
That is a mailing address for returns and correspondence, not a retail location. Press coverage
describes her building the pieces at her family's home, and the site offers no hours, no directions,
and no local-pickup option at checkout.

### How this was verified

Six independent checks, all pointing the same way:

1. **On-site search** returns **zero results** for `wholesale`, `stockist`, `retailer`, `pop up`,
and `trade show`. (`in person` returns 42 results, all product descriptions using the phrase
   incidentally.)
2. **The sitemap** lists 25 pages. None is a store locator, stockist list, or wholesale page.
3. **The "Featured In" page** lists press only — Better Homes and Gardens, House Beautiful, The Wall
Street Journal, CNBC Make It, Apartment Therapy, The Tamron Hall Show, Star Tribune, Romper,
VALE, Localish/ABC, KSTP, 5 Eyewitness News. Press coverage, not retail partners.
4. **The About page** describes a family operation — Ella designs, her grandpa builds the dollhouse
structures, her grandma teaches wallpapering. No mention of any other sales venue.
5. **The product feed** shows `vendor: "Life In A Dollhouse"` on all 249 products. She is not
reselling other brands, and no other brand is reselling her.
6. **Outbound links** from the homepage go to Instagram and Facebook only. No Etsy link, no
marketplace link, no "find us at" section.

### The Etsy caveat

Her Etsy shop still exists and still lists items, but it is not promoted from her own site — no
link, no mention. Treat Etsy as a legacy channel she has not closed rather than a second storefront
she actively runs. If you need to know exactly which SKUs are on Etsy today, that has to be read off
Etsy itself; Etsy blocks automated reads, so it could not be enumerated for this snapshot.

### One nuance worth knowing

Her policies page carries an **Amazon Affiliate Disclosure**, and her blog posts on miniature-making
tools link out to Amazon. Those are recommendations of third-party tools that earn her a commission
— they are not her products, and Amazon is not a channel where you can buy Life In A Dollhouse
pieces. The homepage also loads a Skimlinks script, which does the same job automatically.

## The catalog at a glance

| | |
|---|---|
| Live products | **249** |
| In stock | 239 (10 sold out) |
| Price range | $1 (a dinner plate) to $2,750 (The Vintage Garden Bungalow Dollhouse) |
| Median price | $10 |
| Scale | 1:12 throughout |
| Digital downloads | 23 |
| Made to order | 30 |
| Ready to ship | 9 |
| On sale | 6 |
| Published | Oldest listing Nov 2019, newest Jul 2026 |

### By category

| Category | Items | Price range | Median |
|---|---|---|---|
| Accessories | 98 | $1–$30 | $5 |
| Rugs | 71 | $10–$15 | $10 |
| Kitchens | 30 | $35–$495 | $100 |
| Printables | 22 | $6.50 | $6.50 |
| Furniture | 20 | $8–$35 | $16.50 |
| Lighting | 4 | $12–$36 | $19.50 |
| Dollhouses | 3 | $1,150–$2,750 | $1,250 |
| Gift card | 1 | $25–$250 | — |

Rugs are the signature line: 71 designs, all printed on canvas, all offered in 5×8 and 8×10 (rug
sizes in feet, rendered at 1:12 — so a 5×8 arrives as five inches by eight). Accessories are the
volume and the impulse buy. Kitchens are the money: 30 listings averaging $100 and running to $495,
most built to order with up to 44 variant combinations of hood colour, grout, and hardware finish.

### The high end

Only **one dollhouse is actually purchasable** right now — The Vintage Garden Bungalow at $2,750.
The Seaside Tiny Home ($1,250) and the Serene Tiny Home ($1,150) are both sold out and both marked
one-of-a-kind, so they are unlikely to return. Anyone wanting a whole house at this point is
effectively buying a commission.

## Things worth flagging to the shop

Findings that fall out of the data rather than the browsing:

- **15 products sit in no collection at all.** They are reachable only by search or direct link —
invisible to anyone browsing the menu. Nine of them were published on 18 July 2026, so this looks
like a batch that never got merchandised: Blue Floral Dish, Clear Glasses, Delft Sugar Dish, Delft
Teacup, Dog Fireplace Ornament, Gold Jack, Silver Jack, Welcome Mat, Votive Candle in Pink, plus
older strays (Bistro Glasses, Glass Canister, Red Typewriter, Square Sink, White Canister) and the
gift card. Filter for **"In no collection"** in the browser to see them.
- **The SALE collection is empty** while six products are actually discounted. Those six — including
a Ready-to-Ship kitchen cut from $500 to $300 — have no landing page collecting them.
- **A "Cyber Monday Sale" collection is live year-round** and contains 246 of the 249 products. It is
not in the navigation, but it is public and crawlable.
- **Collection counts in Shopify are stale.** The admin reports 385 products in Cyber Monday Sale and
155 in Accessories; the live feed serves 246 and 88. The gap is unpublished or archived items.
- **Product typing is thin.** 181 of 249 products have an empty `product_type`, and only 79 carry
tags. Categories in this browser were reconstructed from collection membership, which is why the
Room facet is sparse — the shop simply has not classified most of the catalog by room.

## Using `catalog-browser.html`

Open it in any browser. Everything runs locally; product photos load from Shopify's CDN, so you need
a connection for images.

- **Search** covers titles, descriptions, tags, SKUs, and variant options. Multiple words all have to
match. Press `/` from anywhere to jump to the search field.
- **Filters** stack — category, room, status, and price all apply together. Counts beside each option
update to show what is still reachable, and options that would return nothing are disabled.
- **Status filters** include the merchandising ones: In no collection, On sale, Sold out, Made to
order, Ready to ship, Instant download.
- **Click any card** for a detail panel with photos, description, full variant options, SKU, publish
date, and a link to the live product page. `Esc` closes it.
- **The URL updates as you filter**, so any view can be bookmarked or shared —
  e.g. `?kind=Rugs&flag=new&sort=price-desc`.

## Method and caveats

Data came from the public Shopify JSON endpoints: `/products.json` (249 published products, single
page), `/collections.json` (19 collections), and `/collections/<handle>/products.json` for
membership. Channel research came from the site's own pages, its sitemap, its on-site search, and
web search for outside mentions.

Two limits worth stating plainly. **Etsy could not be read directly** — it returns 403 to automated
requests — so its inventory is described from search results rather than counted. And **this is a
snapshot**: prices, stock, and collections change. Re-run the fetch against `/products.json` to
refresh it.
